Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone XI, Osogbo comprising Oyo and Osun states, Mr Olanrewaju Yomi Oladimeji, has charged officers to tackle hoodlums in the zone: “We will not give them chance to operate.

“My mission is to make the public and police to have good relationship and imbibe community policing. This will assist police to flush out the hoodlums from the zone. My officers are ready and up to the task to confront security challenges in the states.

“The Acting Inspector General of Police (IPG), Mr Olukayode Egbetokun’s vision is to configure the security architecture in the area of responsibility in ensuring adequate security. We will carry out confidence building and crime prevention patrol in the environs.

“I have warned officers to shun corruption and be committed to professionalism, selflessness and service to humanity. These will be priorities under my watch. New operational strategies, training and re-training of personnel will be paramount to enhance tactical engagement.

“I have directed the two commissioners of police in the zone to deploy tactical team operatives to flashpoints along Ikire/Gbongan highway and Ilesa/Akure highway. We are totally for the hoodlums. We will go after them.”
