The police in Kano have arrested six suspects for allegedly booing the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero at the re-commissioning of Hasiya Bayero Paediatric Hospital in the state on Sunday.

The suspects were said had organized themselves in a disturbing manner, chanting provocative slogans against the monarch at the occasion.

Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Usaini Gumel, confirmed the arrest while speaking at the Press Center as guest of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

According to him, the police deployed modern technology to identify those involved in the act, adding that more people who played various roles in the unfortunate incident will still be tracked down, including their sponsors.

He added that the suspects were not invited to the event.but were intruders who came on their own, insisting that they were sponsored by somebody or group of persons.

Gumel also hinted that so far on hundred repented criminals in the state have surrendered themselves and their weapons to the police within the last 100 days of his assumption of duty as Commissioner of Police in the state

He added most the unrepentant ones have left the state, while the repented ones are helping the police in tracking others down in their hideouts.
