Mountain of eyebrows raised to his wealth
And the tests founder on his health
So his wings are clipped with disapprobation
In the cauldron of our smouldering nation.
Can he fly on broken wings
When the note loudly falsely rings
of loss putting on the victory hue?
So the INEC’s test we all rue.
Can he fly on broken wings
when a land of million voices sings
the song of rape and ape of democracy
and the shameless sale of our democracy?
Can he fly on broken wings
of credentials that are certificateless
boarding pass to the political top
when he is a complete flop?
Can he fly on broken wings
the evil devil of which our land sings
that whited sepulcher
that reeks of ill-gotten lucre?
Can he fly on broken wings
sailing against the rising tide
of mounting public anger
demanding fairness and justice?
