Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has inaugurated 20 new Sienna buses for the state-owned transport company, Plateau Riders, to improve transportation on the Jos-Abuja route. He also launched a mobile booking app to enhance customer experience.

The governor stated that the new buses and app represent a significant step towards a more robust and improved transport network in the state. They will facilitate the movement of goods and people, supporting businesses, industries, and individuals.

The mobile booking app will streamline the booking process and embrace digital technology.

Plateau Riders General Manager, Samuel Gwot, said the new buses and upgraded services offer passengers two options:

Gida-Gida Express Coaster Bus: This 25-seater bus departs Jos and Abuja daily at 12 noon for N5,000 and 4 pm for N9,000; Sienna Buses: These buses offer a more comfortable and convenient travel experience.

Gwot emphasized the company’s commitment to safety and efficiency: Well-trained drivers: All drivers are trained to ensure passenger safety; Security features: The vehicles are equipped with security features and speed limiters; Improved customer experience: The mobile app and upgraded services enhance the customer experience; Real-time feedback: Passengers can provide feedback during their journey using the contact information displayed on the buses.

Plateau Riders has also reduced travel time between Jos and Abuja by changing the route and upgrading its fleet. The company aims to compete with other transportation providers and offer affordable and reliable services.
