The Mwagavul sociocultural organization has called for the arrest of the leader of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) in Plateau State over comment of a planned genocide against the Fulani people as claimed.

The Director of Public Affairs of the Mwagavul Development Association (MDA) Da. Lawrence Kyarshik in a rejoinder message signed and made available to Journalists yesterday in Jos said the Miyitti Allah Chairman seem to have more information about the unprovoked attacks on people not only in Mangu LGA but other places in Plateau State.

According to him, “We find it expedient to sharply respond to a letter being circulated on social media, allegedly addressed to the General Officer Commanding 3rd Armoured Division, Rukuba Barracks, and the Commander Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), Jos, signed by one Muhammad Nura Abdullahi, Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN), Plateau State, titled: “Complain of a Tactical and a Professional Euthanasia and a Systematic Approach to Start the Genocidal Mission Against Fulani Community in Plateau State”

Da. Kyarshik added, “It is hoped that all arms of the security agencies and the Plateau State Government will hasten the arrest and prosecution of the MACBAN President in Plateau State who seems to have more information about the unprovoked attacks on our people not only in Mangu LGA but other places in Plateau State.

“It should be mentioned in clear and unequivocal terms, that if the Mwaghavul people ever contemplated any ‘genocidal mission’ against the Fulani, as claimed by Muhammad, they would not have opened their doors to accept them in their communities when they fled from other crises areas where they caused mayhem, and even allow them space for grazing and farming in the first instance.

“The unequivocal truth is that by their acts of aggression against the Mwaghavul nation, the Fulani have not demonstrated goodwill by reciprocating the kind gesture of the Mwaghavul people for allowing them space in their communities.”

The Director of Public Affairs cautioned, “We want to state categorically, that the Mwaghavul people are peace-loving people who have never attacked anyone, and will never attack anyone. But for Muhammad and his MACBAN, who have orchestrated a campaign of genocide against our people, we admonish them to desist from doing so and embrace peace and should stop playing the victim, when it is in the public domain that they are the aggressors.”
