Plateau State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate Barr Caleb Mutfwang has said the party has put in place machinery to checkmate the rigging of the APC in the 2023 general elections.
He expressed optimism that with the BVAS put in place by INEC for accreditation and the electronic transmission of results, PDP will win the next elections overwhelmingly with a wide margin.
Barr. Mutfwang disclosed this on Saturday during a town hall meeting with PDP stakeholders, business communities and leadership of development associations in Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State after receiving royal blessings from the Dagwom Rwey of Barkin-Ladi, His Royal Highness Da. Edward Gyang Bot when he paid him homage at his Palace, where all traditional rulers in the area converged.
“I want you to know that PDP is the safest and the most credible platform for the 2023 elections. Don’t allow anybody to weaken your support for the PDP that the party will not be on the ballot. I assure you that PDP will future on the ballot and is the party to go with.
“We have put in place a mechanism to stop rigging by the APC, we know that the BVAS is working and will checkmate their attempt to rig the election. Go and pick your PVCs from INEC and vote for PDP from top to bottom.”
Mutfwang uncovered a plot by the APC members who are buying voters cards of vulnerable persons for N10,000 in some communities in the state and urged citizens to resist APC’s temptation of keeping Nigeria in perpetual poverty.
“There is no time for you to be doing one party for President, another party for Senator and another party for House of Representatives. I want to beg you that come and join hands with us and vote PDP 5/5; PDP from top to bottom.
“We promise that we will provide quality and desirable leadership that will drive good governance, security for the protection of our people, good economy for economic self-reliance, quality health and sound education.
“By the grace of God, we will not disappoint you because PDP has never disappointed Plateau people. We made mistake in 2015 and the time has come for us to right our wrongs,” he stated.
Senator representing Plateau North and Deputy Chairman, Senate Committee on Defence, Sen Istifanus Gyang, said Governor Simon Lalong has brought shame to Plateau people and Nigerians for saying it is the time for APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to chop Nigeria.
He encouraged all eligible votes in Plateau and Nigeria to vote massively for the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and all PDP candidates in the next elections.
The Director General Atiku/Mutfwang Campaign Council, Plateau State, Chief Latep Dabang described APC as a sinking ship and advised Nigerians to avoid the party in the next election.
Dabang, who dumped the APC in 2022, said the party is full of deceit and lies, adding that it has failed Nigerians since it came into power in 2015.
