The venue of the event, Adokiye Amasiemeka Stadium, was agog and literally turned into a carnival of some sort.

At strategic locations in the state capital were stationed highly colourful mobile outdoor advert platforms that projected the leadership qualities of various aspirants.

The diverse population of the country came to the fore as many state chapters of the party came with cultural troupes that displayed to the admiration of those in attendance.

It was a hectic time accessing the Amasiaemeka Stadium, which was full to the brim with delegates, party officials, independent observers, journalists, among others.

The entrepreneurial spirit of Nigerians was not in short supply as the outskirts of the stadium was literally turned into a makeshift market of all wares, especially PDP materials and insignia.

The success of the organization, especially the peaceful atmosphere in the venue put a lie to the disagreement among stakeholders over the choice of Port Harcourt for the convention.
