The newly elected executive members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State have promised to work with Governor Ademola Adeleke to ensure rapid implementation of the developmental agenda of his administration.

This pledge of support followed the successful hosting of the state congress of the party held, Wednesday, at Osogbo Township Stadium where 39 new executive members were elected unopposed with Hon. Sunday Bisi emerging as the State Chairman, Yakubu Kasali as his Deputy and Prince Bola Ajao as the Secretary.

The election of the new executives thus put to rest the prolonged disquiet within the party members. An elated Prince Ajao, speaking with Sunday Sun on the sideline of the event, said the party would cooperate with the state governor to ensure the delivery of dividends of democracy to the people. “This is the time for our great party to be in the vanguard of the government providing the much-needed dividends of democracy for the people. The Congress is a win-win situation for our party and for the government. We must work in synergy with the government to ensure that the much-talked-about dividends of democracy are provided for the people,” he stated.

In a release made available to Sunday Sun, Ajao expressed profound gratitude to Governor Adeleke for providing the right leadership for the party and the state as a whole. “We acknowledge and appreciate the clearly defined, altruistic reward thought line of our benefactors- The Adeleke Dynasty. We revel in and we put it on record the chart bursting, amazing giant strides of our performing Governor-His Excellency, distinguished Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke. We are sure of his keeping pace with the sustainable, all-around achievements even within the limited space of time yet spent in the office in the quick discharge of duties in general public service, peace, and progress of our dear Osun State,” he said.

Apart from Governor Adeleke, Prince Ajao also acknowledged other critical stakeholders who had played a major role in the success of the party in the state. These, according to him, included the National Working Committee, Prof Wale Oladipo, a former National Secretary and life member of the BoT of the party, former governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, his erstwhile deputy, Erelu Olusola Obada, former deputy national chairman, Alh Shuaib Oyedokun, Dr. Deji Adeleke as well as the first Lady of the state, Mrs. Dupe Adeleke Sanni, among others.

Ex-caretaker chairman, Akindele Adekunle, on his part, urged aggrieved members to bury their differences, while delegates expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the congress.
