The Osun Masterminds has cautioned Governor Ademola Adeleke not to introduce politics into the issue of Ilesa University after its approval by the concerned authorities.
Adeleke had ordered the university to put all activities on hold till further notice while the university was about to admit students.
Speaking at a monthly state of the state address in Osogbo, on Wednesday, the Executive Director of Osun Masterminds, Prof Wasiu Oyedokun-Alli, said it is not proper to stop the university after passing through the state assembly, NUC, and JAMB.
The group advised Governor Adeleke to work with the submission of the steering committee that birthed the university so that the university will admit its first set of students this month.
The University don who condemned the scarcity of fuel and new naira warned the concerned authorities to forestall further persistence of the scarcity.
“The hardship is unbearable and it is messing up the already fragile productivity of Nigerians, who now have to suffer untold difficulties to go about their daily activities.
“We call for the speedy resolution of this before it snowballs into a national disaster that may not only affect the conduct of the coming elections but may also throw the country into unprecedented chaos.”
However, the group commended Governor Adeleke for his approval of the payment of salary arrears owed civil servants by the administration of Rauf Aregbesola, adding “we particularly commend him for the willingness he has displayed in righting the wrongs that may have been done in the far and near past.”
The group condemned the reaction that followed the tribunal judgment when there is an opportunity to seek redress, appealing to the people to conduct themselves in a manner to ensure peaceful electioneering come February 25 and March 11.
