The immediate past Governor of Benue state, Chief Samuel Ortom has congratulated his Rivers state counterpart, Mr. Nyesom Wike and Professor Joseph Utsev on their appointment and inauguration as Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by President Bola Tinubu.
Ortom, who stated this inna statement signed by his Media Aide, Terver Akase, said the former Rivers State Governor, Wike and Professor Utsev whom he knows personally as a friend in the case of Wike and a former appointee in the case of Utsev, will bring their wealth of experiences to bear on their new appointments.
He described Wike as a worthy ally who deepened the relationship between Rivers and Benue states, as well as stood by Benue people in difficult times.
The former Governor said as a dogged, reliable and seasoned administrator, Wike will bring the desired development to the Federal Capital Territory as Minister.
He also expressed belief that Professor Utsev who served under him as Commissioner for Water Resources and Environment has the requisite experience and capacity to excel as the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation.
Chief Ortom commended President Tinubu for finding Wike and Utsev worthy to serve in his cabinet, describing them as round pegs in round holes needed for addressing challenges being faced by Nigerians.
