Before he ascended the throne, Ooni Ogunwusi was a top player in Nigeria’s bustling real estate sector alongside his elder brother, Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi. Although his position as a monarch, to some extent, slowed him down from operating in that line of business, he actually bided his time to re-launch himself back into the industry. For the handsome and youthful Ooni, who never does his own thing in half measure, he is filled with lofty ideas and has constantly been actualising it little by little. It is gathered that the Ooni is currently investing hundreds of millions of naira in retail shopping outlets named Ojaja Mall across the South Western states. With the commissioning of the flagship mall in Ile-Ife, Osun State last year, it was gathered that the monarch has completed work on the Osogbo outlet with those in Akure, Ondo State; Ado Ekiti in Ekiti State, Abeokuta in Ogun State and Lagos presently under construction. A source revealed that if completed, the malls would definitely be one of the best and great impacts to the country’s economy. As a way of empowering the youth and taking them away from the labour market, the monarch has also invested billions of naira in agriculture, tech, banking and tourism. He was said to have appointed a sizable number of youths to manage those businesses for him. Also, for his huge impact in women development, next month, Ooni will be launching the Ojaja Women Entrepreneurship Programme at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in New York, US, marking the Annual Women’s Day Celebration.
