Former Governor of Imo State Dr Ikedi Ohakim has joined other Nigerians to sympathise with the late ex-presidential aspirant of the All Peoples Congress(APC), Chief Ogbonnaya Onu.

Ohakim in his condolence message described Onu as a politician who has lived an exemplary life of “politics without bitterness”.

He said the former first civilian governor of Abia State and ex-minister of Science, technology and Innovation died when his brilliance and wealth of experience were needed at the country’s critical period.

“Nigeria has lost a rare gem whose maturity, brilliance, and wealth of experience is highly needed during this most crucial period of our collective existence.

“We shall miss him but we find solace in the knowledge that Dr. Onu lived a worthy and exemplary life. We owe him his memory nothing better than to strive to live up to these ideals which he cherished and lived for,” Ohakim stated.
