Chairman of Ohaozara Local Government, Ebonyi State, Ajah Chinonso, aka Consider, has once again given succour to physically challenged persons in the state.

Ajah, shortly after the special group in the state decorated him as their national patron and also bestowed him with excellent leadership award, directed that 10 of them be captured in the council’s register for monthly stipends, adding that another 10 be included in the lifetime category.

The monthly allowance for those in the second category, according to him, would run even when he is out office. He said that the lifeline was a way of cushioning the hardship faced by the beneficiaries: “I am grateful and I thank God for making it possible. Honestly, I don’t deserve it but since you have considered me worthy for the gesture, I pray that God would pay you back.

“I will not take the honour for granted; many people do pay for this kind of recognition but I have received mine on a platter of gold. On this note, I will always support you people.”

Ajah also donated 50 bags of rice with an undisclosed amount of money to the visitors.

Making the presentation at the Chairman’s Lodge, Obiozara, the council headquarters, leader of the group said it was their way of encouraging Ajah for his good works: “Your service to humanity cannot be wholesomely paid by human beings rather God himself and surprisingly, we even paid you unscheduled visit only to see the first of its kind in the state, we have seen your effort in the lives of Ohaozara youths, we are grateful, we have seen your impact in the lives of the widows and prayed that God would bestow you with more strength.

“We know that you have taken after your boss, Chief David Umahi who is a man with a large heart, the ‘Excellent Leadership Award’ bestowed on you is in consonance with your leadership prowess and we cannot stop praying for your uplifting.”
