Commissioner of of Police, Ogun State, Mr Frank Mba, has warned hoodlums to stay away from the state: “This state will be too hot for them. The command arrested 15 suspected armed robbers, kidnappers and rapists, recovering arms and ammunition from their hideouts.
“The command will map out strategies to curb activities of hoodlums who come from the neighbouring states to rob or commit other crimes.
“I also warned my officers to shun corruption. They should imbibe the IGP Usman Baba Alkali’s vision and mission on how police officers should adopt community policing and apply professionalism when carrying out their duties.
“The command is ready to work with other sister agencies on how to flush out the hoodlums from the state. The police tactical team arrested 15 suspected armed robbers terrorising residents of Abeokuta, Odeda and Sagamu.
“The suspects confessed on how they terrorised the state. Police recovered some dangerous weapons from their hideouts. We have redeployed some officers to the flashpoints where the hoodlums always operate such as the Ibadan-Lagos Expressway, Ore-Ijebu Expressway and Sagamu-Abeokuta Expressway
“We have arrested some suspected rapists and kidnappers and after the conclusion of investigation, the suspects will be charged to court. I am calling on all the traditional rulers, student union governments, market women, clergymen, community leaders and youths to cooperate with us to ensure there is peace in the state.
“We are ready to work with the public to secure their lives and properties. But they should always alert the police of strange things in their communities.”
