The Edo State government has warned Corps Members posted to the state for their one year compulsory National Youths Service to shun cyber crimes saying that the state has zero tolerance for such societal vices.

The government, through its commissioner for Youth and Humanitarian Affairs, Zubairu Abubakar gave the warning at the Swearing-in ceremony of the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream I Corps Members, at Okada, Edo State.

“You are therefore warned against getting involved in cyber crimes or advance fee fraud (I. e Yahoo Yahoo), cultism or taking of hard drugs as the state government has zero tolerance for such societal vices.

“Instead, you are encouraged to key into the economic diversification programme of the Making Edo Great Agenda (MEGA), by aligning yourself with the various skills programmes offered by the state government through the Edo Jobs Agency,” Abubakar said.

He further charged the corps members to utilise the various experiences garnered throuh its skill development programme to establish small and medium scale enterprises to become self employed and employers of labour noting that it is no longer news that the white collar jobs highly thought about in the past are not readily available anymore.
