The organizers of the Nigeria’s foremost and prestigious sports award, Nigerian Sport Awards (NSA) has hailed the appointment of its Award Panel Chairman, Dr. Kweku Tandoh, as the new Chairman of the Lagos State Sports Commission by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

Dr. Tandoh who was the former Director of Lagos State Sports Council, earlier this year was appointed as the Chairman of the Nigerian Sports Awards Panel following the successful tenure of Mr. Ikeddy Isiguzo who piloted the affairs of the awards in its first five years.

The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Sports Awards, Mr. Kayode Idowu commended the foresight and the leadership of Governor Ambode for putting a round peg in a round hole by appointing Dr. Tandoh. He described Tandoh as a thorough-bred sports administrator who has contributed immensely to the development of sports in Nigeria.

“The appointment of Dr. Kweku Tandoh is a right step in a right direction for sport development in Lagos state. Dr. Tandoh is not just qualified for the post, but has proven to be a thoroughly-bred sports administrator.

“I really commend the administration of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for this right decision in ensuring that sports in Lagos state enjoys adequate attention and promotion”, he said.

Mr. Idowu also went further to congratulate Dr. Tandoh on his new appointment and urged him to translate his expertise in sports administration to move sports forward in the state to its desired peak.
