Enyimba International of Aba on Monday recorded their first victory in the ongoing NPFL Super 6 championship with coach Finidi George expressing satisfaction.

Enyimba’s goal came in the 16th minute when Obioma Chukwuemeka nodded into an open net, after Lobi’s goalkeeper had miss timed a throw-in.

Finidi, whose wards threw away their leads in the first game against Remo on Saturday said the victory would spur his side to go all out in their subsequent games.

“I m satisfied with this result… it would go a long way to motivate the boys in subsequent matches,” Finidi said.

In his reaction, his counterpart in Lobi Stars, Baba Ganaru expressed disappointment over the performance of his team.

In the second match of the day, Remo Stars and defending champion Rivers United battled to a pulsating 2-2 draw.

Rivers United opened the scoring in the 16th minute through Nyima Nwagua to end the first half in their favour.

Adedayo Lekan equalised for Remo in the 71st minute and he later doubled the lead for the Ikenne team in the added time. But the joy of victory was cut short for Remo Stars as Adefemi Lukman stalemated the game a minute late.
