The Arewa Youth Assembly has said the closure of the International Conference Centre (ICC), by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, Nyesom Wike was not political.
AYA Publicity Secretary, Ali Muhammed, said the fuss generated by some critics especially Abubakar Ahmad Mo’Allahyidi, was unnecessary and unwanted.
Muhammed said: “Our attention has been drawn to a publication by the Northern patriotic front wherein it gave the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, Barrister Ezenwo Neysom Wike(CON) two weeks ultimatum to reverse revoking contracts of managing International conference center (ICC) Abuja from integrated facility management.
“We wish to make it abundantly clear to these group, its sponsors and co-travellers to stop distracting the Honourable Minister and let him focus on fulfilling the promise he made to Nigerians of developing the Federal Capital Territory in accordance to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.
“Ultimatum or no ultimatum, the development of Abuja remains sacrosanct.
“If Northern Elders truly intervened as claimed, it means they are fully aware of the importance and they are in full cognisance of Wike’s desire to develop Abuja and return it to it’s Original master plan. They know better than to allow you make a jest of your self and sponsors over the ICC.
“We caution them to stop politicizing every situation, ICC belongs to Nigeria as a country, beside, time for politics is over as clearly stated by the president, it is now time for governance.
“it does not matter if Abubakar Ahmad MoAlliyidi is a Chieftain of the APC or not, it’s not a party affairs, all that matter is to actualize the promises of the renewed hope agenda.
“Even if it is a party issue, what has been the contribution of MoAlliyidi to the election of President Tinubu, what has he contributed to the APC, a Senator who lost re-election, what important bills has he passed when he was in the Senate? what achievements has he brought to his constituents. Zero development, missed representation.
“It seems from all the statements this group and its sponsors are making, they are aiming to attack the President, be bold enough to reveal your intentions and plans and stop hiding behind mask.”
