Member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Caucus, Chief Sam Nkire has urged Igbo to take advantage of the continuous registration exercise of APC to join the ruling party.
Chief Nkire who spoke after a meeting of Abia State stakeholders of the party, said the APC was the surest means of producing a Nigerian president of Igbo extraction.
He added that what Igbo laboured in vain for in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for 16 years would be achieved in a shorter time, if more people from the region joined the APC.
The Abia State-born politician and former national chairman of the Progressives Peoples Alliance (PPA), also predicted that not less than seven states, including Delta and Rivers would fall to APC by 2019 general elections.
Nkire advised his Igbo brothers and sisters still in the PDP, both elected and non-elected, to seize the opportunity of the present crisis in the party and “jump out of the sinking ship before it is too late.”
He particularly told the people of Abia State to troop out in large number, in order to be counted among participants in Nigeria’s mainstream politics.
