The Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST) has said it was ready than ever
before to provide more effective and fast services to all Nigerians.
Post Master General, Mr. Bisi Adegbuyi, gave this assurance during the
commissioning of a new Post Office at Obajana in Lokoja Local
Government Area of Kogi State.
Adegbuyi said his vision to embark on sustainable initiatives that
will reinvigorate, re engineer and transform NIPOST to a greater
height, was on course.
The Post Master Genera, who was represented by the zonal manager,
Abuja Operations, Mr. Austin Iroamachi, said NIPOST has been
repositioned to be a market-driven organisation with innovations to
provide efficient, effective and reliable services with the
appropriate technology and well motivated workforce to all its
customers.
He assured that NIPOST would harness its potentials effectively to
contribute to the overall survival and sustainability of the nation’s
economy .
The district postal manager, Mr. Frank Opiah in his brief address,
said his organization decided to open a new post office in Obajana so
as to enhance the economic growth of the community as according to him
Obajana is the fastest growing community in Nigeria hosting the second
to the largest cement company in the world.
In his own speech, the traditional ruler of Obajana, Dr. Idowu Isenibi
expressed happiness that the Postal Master General deemed it right to
establish a post office in his community.
He said the community was peaceful and ready to welcome any government
establishment that will enhance the standard of living of the people
saying his people would no longer need to go yo lokoja to send their
mail parcels.
While inaugurating the new post office, the traditional ruler donated
a large expanse of land to the organisation to enable them build a
bigger and more befitting post office.
