A chieftain of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prof. Tunde Adeniran, said Nigerians were tired of the two main political parties, that is the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Adeniran, who was a chairmanship candidate of PDP in the 2017 national convention of the party stated this, on Tuesday, in Abuja, when he welcomed Sen. Barnabas Gemade to the fold.

Adeniran expressed optimism that with the likes of Gemade, the political fortunes of the party will take a positive dimension.

The former Minister of Education, who defected to SDP after he lost the chairmanship seat of the PDP to Prince Uche Secondus, hinted that the party leadership will continue to work assiduously to ensuring that the party becomes the ruling party in the country.

According to Adeniran, “I welcome you (Gemade) back home where you belong. In SDP you served this country conscientiously. We welcome you on behalf of the National Chairman, Chief Olu Falae, he is here with us in spirit.

“Many more are coming. They are on their way. Some are already in to work with us to make sure that we reposition Nigeria politics ab initio.

“By the grace of God, this party which is number three will become number one in Nigeria.

“Nigerians are tired of the other two(APC and PDP) and this is what they are waiting for.

“We are not going to disappoint because we stand for justice, equity, real development and the Nigerian people.

“As you go back to Benue State we will make sure that this message resonate, not just within the North Central Zone but all over the country and with this we are going to transform Nigeria until we have progress in the political space,” he assured.

Speaking earlier, SDP’s National Secretary, stressed that winning Benue State will not a rocket science due to number of politicians defecting to the party from the state.
