The member, representing Sagbama-Ekeremor Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Fred Agbedi, has said that power resides with the people, stressing that they should utilize that power effectively in the coming elections.

Hon. Agbedi, who is seeking re-election back to the House, stated that politicians always return to the people to ask for their support because of the inherent power the people have to determine their fate.

Speaking at Aleibiri community in Constituency One of Ekeremor Local Government Area during the PDP Constituency Campaigns, he thanked the people profusely for the confidence they have always reposed in him over the years and pleaded that they should once again, vote for him and other candidates.

The Federal legislator recalled that he built a Community Hall for Aleibiri Community sometime ago and during the commissioning of that project, he promised to build a three bedroom apartment for the Paramount ruler as a resting place whenever he has functions at the Community Hall.

According to him, that project is captured in this year’s budget, adding that if he gets re-elected, he will ensure that the project is delivered.

Taking his turn, Hon. Tare Porri, the member, representing Ekeremor Constituency One in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, reeled out some projects he has influenced to his Constituency in the last three years.

 According to him, these include; completion of a 150-metre concrete pavement road at Ayamasa, construction of an ongoing 200-metre pavement walk-way at Isampou, Teachers Staff Quarters at Aleibiri, six classroom block at Lalagbene and provision of water for the people of Kunou and many others.

In his remarks, Chief Victor Okubonanabo, who spoke on behalf of Senator Seriake Dickson, noted that the people of Ekeremor Constituency One have always voted for Senator Dickson since his foray into elective politics in 2007.

He, therefore, pleaded with the people to vote for all the PDP candidates in the coming elections so that they could jointly support Governor Douye Diri whose second tenure election will be taking place later this year.

Earlier in his remarks, Hon. Fyneman Wilson, Director-General of the Bayelsa-West Campaign Council encouraged those that are yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards to take advantage of the window of extension of the period of PVC collection as announced by INEC to do so in order to exercise their franchise during the elections.
