Ibrahim Gusau, President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), is confident that the Super Eagles will qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Super Eagles have had a poor start to their World Cup qualifying campaign, picking up just three points from four games.

The three-time African champions are presently fifth in the Group C rankings, four points behind joint leaders Benin Republic and South Africa.

To qualify for the 2026 world cup, the Super Eagles must win all six of their remaining matches.

Gusau has vowed that despite their vulnerable position, the Super Eagles will qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

“This is a very sad moment for Nigerian football and we can not run away from that, what I can assure you is that we’re working tirelessly with the Sports Minister to make sure we take some holistic measures that will change the entire system,” Gusau said.

“It’s still possible (to qualify for World Cup) and we’re going to make it.”
