The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Gusua is said to have approved the payment of all the bonuses and allowance owed players of the Women U-17 National football team, the Flamingos, eleven months after it failed to advance to the finals of the U-17 World Cup in Germany.

One of the player who was outstanding at tournament, and who will not want her name on print, confirmed to Insidenews that the team Secretary Aunty Pat called her on phone and ask her to provide a domiciliary bank account details with BVN, and home address, where her outstanding World Cup bonuses and allowance would be paid into.

Flamingos crashed out after penalty shoot out loss to Colombia in the semi-finals of the 2022 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
