The new Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 4 in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, AIG Musa Haladu, has resumed office with a promise to ensure peace and order in the zone.

AIG Haladu, made the promise in Makurdi on Thursday, shortly after he was received by the Benue state Police Commissioner, CP Wale Abass and other management staff in the zone.

The new AIG Haladu, took over from the outgoing AIG Sowemi Adesina, who recently went on retirement.

Haladu who resumed as the 41st Assistant Inspector General of Police zone 4, assured the people of Benue, Nasarawa and Plateau states of his avowed commitment to entrench peace and tranquility in the zone.

He said, “To me, I am not the one that talks too much, I believe in my action and the mission for every policeman is peace.

“We always use to say that security is everybody’s business but to me me, security is everybody’s life and at the same time, I have learnt something when someone said that security is development and development is security.

“What does that mean? It means that when there is no peace, there is no development.”

He said he would work in collaboration with other sister agencies to stave off insecurity for peace and development to thrive in the zone.

The Commissioner of Police in Benue state, CP Wale Abbas who welcomed the new AIG spoke glowingly of his capacity to deliver.

“I know him and I know his capacity. He is a man of honour, a man of integrity and very very operational. We’re course mates. We started together and we have being together and we have been communicating.

“So I’m delighted that he is the one coming here to coordinate the activities and operational strategies in Zone 4.

He said, “Don’t forget Zone 4 comprises of Benue, Nasarawa and Plateau States. I on my own, I can speak on behalf of Benue, at least, with his presence and his advent to Benue state will definitely add pep in our operational activities in Benue and I wish him a happy stay,” Abbas said.
