Gbubemi Ejeye is one of the best things that have happened to Nollywood in recent times.

Since her role of Adufe in the Netflix series, Far From Home, Gbubemi has continued to make a statement in the industry, as she has featured in several other productions, like Game On Season, Covenant, Shuga, False Doors and Atunwa, a feature film.

In this interview, the caramel-skinned actress took us through her beginning, her present and the future. Please enjoy it.

Take us back to your childhood days, how was your growing up?

I grew up in a Christian home with three siblings. It was quite strict, but I found peace from drama, dancing, movies, and reading novels. Also, I had some of the most memorable and happy moments with family that made massive impact on my life.

How did you come into entertainment?

I knew acting was something I was definitely going to try. I searched Google for audition places in Lagos, and found one. However, my first audition was a disaster; I cried when I got home and then I tried again and never stopped pushing until I got some callbacks. I met people who took chances on me, and that’s it. I am here now.

Did you see yourself going this far from the beginning?

I haven’t even got anywhere close to where I see myself. But my journey has been amazing and I’m here for it, because I am enjoying it all the way!

Would you say your role in Far From Home brought you to the limelight?

Limelight can be relative; I’ll say I have got more recognition in ways I never saw coming since its release. I really can’t write about me without mentioning Far From Home.

What’s your greatest challenge since you became a celebrity?

Celebrity! Not yet. I really don’t see myself as a celebrity yet.

How would you describe your lifestyle in a few words?

I will describe myself as simple, peaceful, daring, and elegant.
