This year’s International Women’s Day celebration has come and gone, but the echo still lingers, as Recare Limited, makers of Natures Gentle Touch, treated female journalists to a media hangout.
Recare Limited, Founded by Chika Ikenga, is a personal style brand using natural ingredients to solve hair and scalp problems.
The event which, took place at Natures Gentle Touch Hair Institute, Ikeja, Lagos, had in attendance trichologists, Instructors and members of staff of the institute, who provided a veritable platform for interaction and knowledge-sharing on common various hair problems suffered by Nigerian women.
It also featured intensive hair counselling and follow-up therapy.

The Chief Executive Officer of the company Chijoke Anaele, reiterated the brand’s commitment to promoting healthy hair and scalp wellness, as well as addressing diverse hair care needs.
According to him, the goal of setting up the Institute is to advance beauty education and training, develop professional competencies in hair styling and increase entrepreneurial spirit for economic development and empowerment of youths.
“We are committed to providing a holistic scientific approach to hair and scalp care, using rich natural ingredients. We have, therefore, developed treatments for various problems such as dandruff, hair breakage, dry hair, weak and damaged hair, as well as slow hair growth among others,” he stated.
Anele therefore, urged Nigerians to embrace indigenous hair care products, especially those formulated with natural ingredients, and reassured them of the brand’s commitment to providing both solutions and information on hair care.

The high point of the day was a media tour of the facility reputed to be one of Nigeria’s largest hair and beauty institute established in 2006.
The tour, most remarkably, culminated in an exclusive session with the institute’s 28th batch of trainees, all on three-year scholarships with regular stipends which, has been the institute’s practice since inception.
Participants were presented with various range of the company’s hair products and gift cards, which further qualified them for a free walk-in hair therapy session at the institute to further encourage personal hair care.
