Muslims in Ogun State have organized a special prayer for the president of Nigeria, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his 72nd birthday, calling on God to give him the right direction and wherewithal to lead the country, especially in this trying period.

The special prayer put together by the Ogun West Muslims Community and facilitated by the senator representing Ogun West in the National Assembly, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, in Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government Area of the state, was also used to offer prayers for the Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun and Senator Adeola.

At the event attended by members of the League of Imams and Alfas from Ogun East and Ogun Central senatorial districts as well as Muslim leaders, the clerics prayed for the president to be imbued with wisdom, right knowledge and guidance to navigate the country out of the current socio-economic challenges.

According to them, President Tinubu has been chosen by God to lead the country at this particular point in time, expressing optimism that Nigeria will be revived under the leadership of the president.

Taking their turns to supplicate on behalf of the president, Governor Abiodun and Senator Adeola, the Chief Imam of Ijebuland, Sheik Muftau Ayanbadejo and Muslim Balogun, Chairman, League of Imams and Alfas in Ijebuland, respectively, declared that the trio have continued to offer good governance and leadership, hence, the need to support them with prayers.

They noted that at the federal level, President Tinubu-led administration has engendered developmental policies capable of bringing about the desired socio-economic transformation of the country, while Governor Abiodun has continued to ensure the well-being of the masses through different welfare packages.

Describing Senator Adeola as a “God-sent and liberator” of the Ogun West people, the clerics prayed that God grants him his heart desires.

The Muslim leaders who commended the senator for offering quality representation at the National Assembly and facilitating developmental projects across Ogun West, appreciated him for ensuring the welfare of Muslim clerics across the four zones of Ogun State.

Speaking at the event, Senator Adeola thanked the Muslim leaders in the state for the prayers, especially for President Tinubu, whom he described as a humane and kind leader.

Represented by Kola Lawal, a member of the House of Representatives who represented Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency between 2019 and 2023, however, promised to donate brand new buses to the League of Imams and Alfas in Egba, Remo and Ijebuland.
