The Nasarawa State Police Command has issued a warning to politicians who intend to disrupt the electoral process in the state.
According to a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, sent to Saturday Sun in Friday, saying some desperate politicians are importing political thugs into certain local governments in the state like Nasarawa Eggon, Akwanga, Kokona and Toto.
The Police Command has promised to use all necessary forces in collaboration with other security agencies to subdue any act capable of rupturing the polls on March 18, 2023.
The Command also stated that there will be a restriction of movement from 12 midnight on March 17, 2023, to 6:00 pm on March 18, 2023.
Furthermore, accredited observers, journalists, security agents, and one accredited political party agent from each registered political party will be allowed entrance into all collation centers across the state.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Maiyaki Baba, has urged members of the public to come out and vote for candidates of their choice without fear while assuring them of maximum security.
Parents have been advised to warn their children to stay away from any contemplated illegality, as anyone found wanting no matter how highly placed in the society shall be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.
The Nasarawa State Police Command has called on all political parties and the general public to be law abiding.
