The Nigeria police, Nasarawa command, have alleged the ploy by some politicians to create tension to scuttle the coming general elections.

The state Commissioner of Police, Baba Maiyaki, made the disclosure during the signing of a peace accord by candidates of political parties contesting for various positions in the state yesterday. He said explained that information available to him as the police boss in the state revealed that some politicians who did not have the confidence of winning the forthcoming elections were importing thugs into the state to cause mayhem during the elections.

He however warned that men of the command in collaboration with sister security agencies were battle ready to deal with any breach of peace.
