A PDP member of the House of Representatives representing Plateau State’s Barkin-Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency, Hon Simon Mwadkwon, has been declared the winner of the Plateau North senatorial election.

Mwadkwon polled 155,681 votes to beat the Labour Party candidate, Gyang Zi who scored 79,831 votes, the APC candidate, Chris Giwa got 78,392 while the PRP candidate, Suleiman Yahaya Kwande got 32,670 votes.

INEC Returning Officer Prof Jeff Godwin Doki who declared the result said “Simon Mwadkwon having satisfied the requirement of the law and scored the highest votes is hereby declared the winner and return elected.”

Also, a former member of Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon Musa Agah, of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has been declared the winner of the Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency election.

Agha polled 87,609 to beat the candidate of the PRP, Muhammad Alkali, who scored 67,331 votes.

The INEC Returning Officer, Dr Nehemiah Sanda, said “Musa Agah having satisfied the requirement of the law and score the highest votes is hereby declared winner and returned elected “

Hon Simon Mwadkwon dedicated his victory to God and the entire people of Plateau North who stood by him to victory.
