It was all fun last Saturday at Go Yellow and Dance for Endo event, which had in attendance pretty and vibrant ladies, including gentlemen, all dressed in yellow T-shirts filed out for aerobic dance session.

Organised by ESGN and co-sponsored by MTN, the event, which held at Good Beach, Victoria Island, Lagos, was suffused with fun, laughter and camaraderie relaxation at the beach side.

The instructors (male and female) taught participants different dance steps ranging from ballet, zumba, Afrojuju, calypso, hip-hop etc. It was indeed fun as the dancers tried vigorously to catch up with the instructors.

Speaking, Dr Abayomi Ajayi, patron, Endometriosis Support Group Nigeria and founder, ESGN, said the essence of the programme was to promote the awareness of endometriosis.

According to him, his team chose dance because they wanted to attract the attention of young people.

“That’s simply why we are using dance as a vehicle to raise this awareness in 2023. Yellow is the colour of endometriosis and the month of March is earmarked worldwide for endometriosis awareness,” he stated.

Giving a peep into the life of persons living with endometriosis, Ajayi said, “Endometriosis occurs in roughly 6-10 percent of women. The condition affects about 190 million women and girls around the world.”
