The Arewa Youths Alliance for Progress and Development has hailed the nomination of the Executive Director of Business Development at the Nigerian Export-Import (NEXIM) Bank, Stella Oketete in the ministerial list sent to the National Assembly by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The group said Okotete’s as shown that the resident has eyes for talents, as well as the innate ability to hunt for the best brains to get the job done, describing it as a fulfillment of his campaign promise of women and youths inclusion in his administration.

A statement by the group’s national president, Umaru Bala Babayaro, said Okotete is among the few patriotic Nigerians from economically challenged Niger Delta region.

According to the statement which was made available to our correspondent in Asaba, Okotete, a native of Delta State “ignited a passion with undiluted commitment within herself to make a significant difference in her community and across the country.

“The 38 years old entrepreneur had set a concrete and holistic stage for a remarkable trajectory in public service, business development, and philanthropy.

“As a focal person for the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in Delta State, she provided strategic leadership and collaborated with various agencies to ensure successful implementation of programmes aligned with the United Nations Millennium Declaration. Her efforts birthed remarkable improvements in areas such as healthcare, education, poverty alleviation, and environmental sustainability.”

Babayaro said Okotete’s formative years shaped her into “a visionary leader, an advocate for women’s rights, and a catalyst for positive change in Nigeria and beyond.

“Her commitment to continuous growth and her dedication to making a lasting impact exemplify the qualities that have earned her the admiration and respect of many.

“As Executive Director of Business Development of NEXIM Bank, she initiated so many policies and programmes towards supporting entrepreneurship, trade facilitations, and diversification of Nigeria export sector.

“Her vision for job creation, industrialization, and foreign exchange generation has led to the foundation of innovative products such as the Women and Youth Export Facility and the Small and Medium Export Enterprise Facility, which have strengthened Nigeria’s economic development.”

He stated that the group has no doubt that Okotete would enormous value to president Tinubu’s administration, and thanked the president for tapping from her reservoir of talents to join the train of renewed hope for a better Nigeria.
