Ademola Lookman definitely put himself in the shop window after his historic performance during Atalanta’s 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen in the final of the Europa League on Wednesday, May 22.

The Nigeria national teamer became the first player to score a hat-trick in a European final since the German Jupp Heynckes celebrated a hat-trick for Borussia Moenchengladbach in the 1974-1975 edition of the UEFA Cup against Dutch team Twente.

Deco, sporting director of FC Barcelona, and Bojan Krkic, in charge of the club’s youth team, were dazzled by the performance of the Atalanta forward, and it has been suggested that the La Liga giants, who are in the market for a versatile winger, could make a move for the Nigerian in the summer.

It was reported on Friday that new West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui and technical director Tim Steidten are interested in signing Lookman as they look to bolster their forward options.

Lookman has two more years left on his contract with Atalanta, whom he joined from RB Leipzig in summer 2022.

The 26-year-old has made seventy-six all-competition appearances for the Nerazzurri, scoring 30 goals and adding 16 assists.
