From Chijioke Agwu, Abakaliki

Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) in Ebonyi state, Chief Ifeanyi Odii, has appealed to stakeholders of the main opposition party in the state to support him and other candidates of the party to reclaim the state in 2023.

He maintained that Ebonyi remained a stronghold of PDP, begging that all hands must be on deck to ensure the victory of the party next year.

Odii who spoke when he met with some leaders of the party in Abakaliki on Saturday, said the fear being generated by his candidature was unnecessary as he was coming to be Governor for Ebonyi and not a section of the state.

He described his recent victory at the Supreme Court as victory for the people.

The PDP candidate further assured that his administration will vigorously pursue the development of the state, and empowerment of the people without any form of bias and discrimination.

He said “it is our collective victory at the Supreme Court. It is a victory for Ebonyi people and a victory for all the members of the PDP family. Now, we have gotten the victory, we are going to work very hard to ensure that we win in the next general election.

“I’m reaching out to all PDP members from house to house, contacting them and showing them the reasons to work together and reclaim Ebonyi, because it belongs to PDP.

“It’s possible that my emergence is causing fear here and there , but that is uncalled for because i’m not coming to be a governor of Ohaozara people, Onicha LGA or Izzi people, but a governor for Ebonyi State at large”
