Lagos State House of Assembly has said its cordial relationship with the executive will yield greater democracy dividends for Lagosians.
Special Adviser on Political Affairs to  Speaker Mudasiru Obasa, Mufutau Egberongbe, said the synergy with the executive would bring more happiness to the people of the state.
According to him, residents of the state had started to see performance of the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode-led administration. Egberongbe, who said good laws would continue to be instrumental to a better society, added that the Assembly, headed by Obasa, was committed to enacting good laws to better the society.
“Since the executive arm has always been carried along in legislative activities, passing of bills into law and their implementation has been seamless and effective,” he said.
He said the recent amendment of the environment law would also ensure a safer, cleaner and more hygienic society. The law, according to him, is targeting the needs of the society as well as creating employment for the jobless.
He added that lawmakers had been trained within and outside the country, where they compared notes with their counterparts in the United States.
He said the state government had no choice than to deliver on its promises to the citizenry because they were always putting the government on its toes.
He, however, appealed to the residents to support the government by paying their taxes, saying Ambode had shown prudence in management of public funds.
