The burial of late boxer, Chukwuemeka Igboanugo, who died during the last National Sports Festival, Asaba, Delta State in 2022 will hold today at his family compound in Umueze Ogwa, Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State.
The Imo State government had promised a state burial for the departed Cruiserweight boxer after his death in active service at the last National Sports Festival.
In a press statement signed by the Imo State Commissioner for Sports, Youth and Social Development, Emeka Okoronkwo, the late boxer’s remains will be committed to mother earth today at his family compound in Umueze Ogwa, Mbaitoli LGA.
The funeral ceremonies will commence by 8.00 am at Dan Anyiam Stadium Complex Owerri and terminates at his country home at Umueze Ogwa in Mbaitoli LGA.
