Kenneth Omeruo is delighted to make his first LaLiga start in Leganes’ 1-1 draw with Valencia at Mestalla on Saturday.

The defender joined the Cucumber Growers in the summer on loan from Chelsea. and he made his debut as a substitute for the side against Rayo Vallecano on October 6 but was afforded a starting role against Marcelino’s men and featured for 70 minutes before he was replaced by Raul Garcia.

Gerard Gumbau’s strike from the penalty spot was cancelled out by Jose Luis Gaya’s effort as the Oranges held visiting Mauricio Pellegrino’s men.

And the former Middlesbrough player has taken to the social media to show his delight starting the encounter while also eulogising his teammates’ efforts in the tie.

“Good to have my first start in LaLiga,” Omeruo posted on Instagram.

“Tough game, so proud of my teammates for the efforts they put in.

“Time to rest well and recover for the next game.”

Omeruo will be hoping to get another starter’s shirt in their next league game when Leganes take on Levante next Saturday.
