Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State on Thursday was in Yauri Local Government Area to condole with Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa, the Managing Director of Hydro-Power Producing Areas Development Commission ( HYPPADEC ), on the death of his mother, Hajiya Fatima Ahmed Umma.
The deceased died on Monday after a protracted illness.
The late Hajiya Fatima,Umma was described by the governor as a mother to all who preached peace and unity both within and outside her family, while she was a mother many saw as a role model.
He prayed Allah to forgive her shortcomings and admit her into Aljannar Firdaus.
The Governor also beseeched Allah to give her family the fortitude to bear the loss.
While responding, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa, expressed appreciation to the Governor and his entourage for the condolence visit.
He assured the governor of the unflinching support of the people of Yauri to his policies and people-oriented programmes.
He also prayed for Allah’s guidance and protection to the Governor.
The late Hajiya Fatima who died at the age of over 90, is survived by eight children including the HYPPADEC MD.
Similarly, the Governor paid a condolence visit to the family of the former Education Secretary and Sole Administrator, Alhaji Musa Bature.
The Governor donated N2 million to the deceased’s family .
The Governor was accompanied on the trip by the Secretary to the Kebbi State Government,Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, Head of Service, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba-Bena, Commissioner of Information and culture. Alhaji Ahmed Yakubu Birnin-Kebbi, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Garba Dutsinmari, Special Adviser on Power and Political Affairs, Alhaji Kabir Sani Gaint, Chairman Local Governments Service Commission, Alhaji Mansur Sheahu, Rector Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi, Dr. Usman Tunga, Permanent Secretaries and politicians.
