Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, yesterday, inaugurated a Judicial Commission of Inquiry to the last administration under former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Ganduje is now the National Chairman of the All Progressive Party (APC). The Commission is mandated to inquire into cases of misappropriation of public properties and assets. The governor urged the Commission to leave no stone unturned to identify cases of misappropriation of public properties and assets, especially by the last administration under Ganduje within and outside the state.

He also told the members of the commission not to compromise their position but remain faithful to their oath and the people of Kano State and ensure justice for the state. He explained that the action was neither political nor targeted at any individual, but it’s a move with the mandate of the people of Kano State.

Yusuf also set up another Judicial Commission of Inquiry headed by Justice Zuwaira Yusuf to look into cases of political violence and missing persons from 2015-2023. During the period under investigation, one bloody incident that took place was the killing of some members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), which led to a reprisal attack and burning down of his house at Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu Estate.
