The Kano State government has apologised to the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, for accusing him of smuggling the deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, into the state.

Deputy Governor of the state, Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, disclosed this on Monday during a dawn press conference, where he expressed deep regrets for the embarrassment and incontinence they had caused the NSA and his office.

Speaking at the Government House, he said that they were misled into believing that Ribadu was behind the provision of the aircraft and the huge security that led the deposed monarch into the state, adding that they had since realised that he was not behind the action.

He said that, “knowing Ribadu’s integrity, his steadfastness, if he had a hand in it, he would have come forward to say so and also, would not deny the act if he had anything to do with it.”

The Deputy Governor assured the NSA that the Kano State Government would continue to cooperate with him in the discharge of his assignment as the National Security Adviser while appealing to him to take notice of the unfortunate happenings in the state.

He also appealed to President Bola Tinubu, and any other relevant authority to investigate the happenings in the state and take steps to ensure the protection of peace and security in the state.
