The wife of the President and National Chairman Renewed Hope Initiative, Oluremi Tinubu, Thursday, distributed cash and food items to vulnerable groups and persons with disabilities in Kano state.

Represented by the wife of Vice President, Nana Shettima at the occasion held at the Government House, Tinubu distributed 2000 bags of food items to the needy as well as N500,000 start-up capital to 20 women farmers.

Speaking at the occasion, Shettima indicated that the gesture was motivated by the concern of the First Lady over the plights of the needy and persons with disabilities.

She expressed optimism that the interventions would go a long way in assisting the needy in society.

She also appealed to the beneficiaries to make good use of the donated items to improve their lives while urging them to appreciate the governor of the state, Abba Kabir Yusuf for his additional support of the program

Shettima, who was accompanied to the state by the wives of the Senate President, and the wife of the Speaker of the House lauded groups and individuals who had worked tirelessly for the success of the day.

Speaking at the occasion, the Kano State Commissioner for Agriculture. Dr Danjuma Mahmud appreciated the First Lady for motherly disposition to the needy while expressing the gratitude of his people of the state.

He announced the governor’s additional donations of one pumping machine and one hectare of land to each of the 20 women farmers.
