Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State, on Monday, emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), with a total of 2,740,847 votes.

A Government House statement said the figure of the result was announced by the Chief Returning Officer for the  primary election in the state , Mr Pius Odudu at the state party’s secretariat.

The statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Abba Anwar, said the figure was arrived at after collating all the results forwarded by the 44 local governments of the state.

Dr. Ganduje was the sole candidate in the election, according to the statement.

While expressing satisfaction over its peaceful nature of the exercise, the governor was grateful to the party members for their solidarity with his second term ambition.

He encouraged party members and other well meaning Nigerians to come out en mass and vote for President Muhammad Buhari in the forth-coming 2019 election.

Revealing that, “Our major concern, as being championed by our dear President Muhammadu Buhari, is to take Nigeria to the next levels of development. That is why we are replicating, at state levels, what President Buhari is championing.”
