The lawmaker representing Abia North Senatorial District in the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, on Friday, expressed sadness over the brutal murder of Mr Zachary Maduka, a chieftain of the Labour Party (LP) in Uturu, Isikwuato Local Government Area of the state by unknown assailants.

Kalu, a two-term former governor of Abia State, in a statement from his media office, described the killing of Maduka— who was beheaded by his killers as callous and unacceptable, calling on the security agencies to fish out the perpetrators.

He said no Abia North Constituent deserves such inhumane and painful death.  While Senator Orji Uzor Kalu condoles with the family of the deceased, he has charged the security agencies to leave no stone unturned in finding those behind the killing and bring them to book.

“In the same vein, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu will continue to collaborate with Governor Alex Otti, security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and properties of the people of Abia North Senatorial District,” the statement partly said.
