Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has urged corps members deployed to the state for 2024 Batch A stream 2 orientation course in Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area of the state to join the government to grow the economy.

The governor stated this recently at the swearing in ceremony of 2024 Batch A stream 2 of National Youth Service  Corps (NYSC) orientation course.

He was represented at the event by the Commissioner for higher education, Prof. Johnbull Tonukari, who appealed to corps members to show discipline, honesty and selflessness throughout the service year.

Oborevwori said they should endeavour to place themselves at above board and strive to achieve a more cohesive Nigeria.

He maintained that Delta remains a peaceful and safe state,.

He added that the state was not insulated from the security challenges across the country, urging them to avoid partnering with people with negative tendencies.

The Governor assured them of their safety as pragamatic steps were being take to make the continually peaceful.

“Every necessary arrangement, in collaboration with the NYSC, will be put in place to ensure that you enjoy maximum protection,” he said.

“The orientation course is designed to instill in your leadership qualities, enhance interaction and harmonious co-existence with others diverse backgrounds, contributions to nation building”.

He noted that the orientation exercise will exposed them into self-employment, entrepreneurship training, drills, socio-cultural activities and immersion in the traditions of the host communities.

He charged them to maintain the obligations and influence the attitudinal disposition towards building a strong, united and cohesive nation of our collective dreams.

The state coordinator Mr Alao Olusegun Olaosebikan urged the corps members to prepare themselves as they serve their fatherland.

He appealed to the state government to expedite action in fulfilling the promise of the new 150 KVA diesel generator and to assist in addressing the challenges of water supply and the camp perimeter fence.

He further charged the Corps members to seize the unparalleled opportunity to develop into the leaders they are destined.
