– Hints projects to complement Gov Abiodun’s administration’s efforts

The senator representing Ogun West in National Assembly, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, at the weekend disclosed that he has attracted 78 capital projects to Ogun West in less than six months in the senate at the 10th senate.

Adeola, who is also the Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriations, said that the capital projects that are currently under construction across the six local government areas in senatorial district include school buildings, health care facilities, roads and bridges, town halls and police stations.

He added that the projects are in addition to his empowerment programme targeted at over 5,000 constituents in training, grants and provision of equipment for self-employment.

The senator stated this in his goodwill message at the grand finale of the 30th edition of the annual Oronna Ilaro Festival, held at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion, Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The weeklong festival’s grand finale which had in attendance royal Secretary to Ogun State Government (SSG), Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, who represented the governor, top government functionaries and royal fathers from Ogun West, was used to unveil the multipurpose town hall at the pavilion facilitated by the senator.

Adeola, who expressed optimism that Ogun West will become a “small London” in four years’ time in terms of development based on some of his facilitated projects, declared that all the capital and human development projects are being attracted to complement the efforts of the Ogun State Government under the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun.

The senator, however, commended Governor Abiodun for his even developmental efforts across the length and breadth of the state, particularly in the area of infrastructure development.

He further emphasized that his attraction for the Federal Government project to Ogun West will complement the strides of the governor in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In his address at the event, Governor Abiodun through the SSG commended Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland for re-branding the tourism festival not only for the promotion of culture and unity of the people, but as a veritable means of self-help community development projects.

He added hat the state government under his watch will continue to bring needed development for the people of the state.

In his welcome address, Lekan Asunni, the chairman of Oronna Ilaro Festival Central Planning Committee, commended the state government for its support for the festival as well as infrastructure development of the area with particular reference to Ilaro-Owode Road, adding that “like Oliver Twist, the government should come to the aid of communities in addressing the challenges of township roads”.

Meanwhile, Oba Olugbenle gave out meritorious awards to deserving sons and daughters of Ilaro and others for their contributions to the development of the town.

Among the recipients of the awards are the Governor Abiodun, Senator Adeola and his Media Adviser, Kayode Odunaro, who served as the chairman of Oronna Ilaro Festival Central Planning Committee for between 2012 and 2015.
