Two-time governorship candidate in Ogun State, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ogun for the 2019 general election.

Announcing Isiaka’s candidacy, otherwise known as GNI, on Wednesday night, the Returning Officer for the primary exercise, Fatai Akinbade, said Isiaka, as a consensus candidate emerged through affirmation votes of 207,334.

He added that the votes were garnered from the 236 wards and 20 local government areas of the state and commended members of the party over the peaceful conduct of the exercise.

In his acceptance speech, Isiaka, said the governorship ticket   represented a clarion call to march forward with more determination and energy.

He added that in the last two years, he had traversed the nooks and crannies of Ogun State, in his renewed bid to make life more abundant for the people.

Isiaka, further noted that “governance in Ogun State had become an elaborate charade, characterised by self aggrandisement, bad governance, nepotism and inequality but with the support of you all, we shall clean the Augean stable”.

He also promised to faithfully implement the manifesto of ADC, which according to him, have been strategically aligned with his blueprint tagged ‘7 Steps to Greatness’.

According to GNI, “The manifesto, which will be unveiled within a fortnight, would be vigorously pursued to ensure socio-economic welfare of the people and the physical development of our environment.”
