Indomie Fan Club (IFC), Nigeria’s largest children-based fan club, has rewarded winners in its Season 7 Edition of its ‘Team Yourself Up’ Competition. The competition saw children between the ages of 5 to 12 years come to an exciting end with winners smiling home with cash prizes and other items.

Sponsored by Dufil Prima Foods, makers of Indomie Noodles, Indomie Fan Club (IFC), a child engagement initiative designed to enhance the writing and creative skills of members of the club cut across 3,000 schools in Nigeria.

Several members of the IFC exhibited their talents during the Special Arts and Crafts Exhibition of the competition. The children made several unique creatives from wrappers and cartons of their favourite noodles, Indomie Instant Noodles.

Some of the artworks built from the Indomie cartons and wrappers include castles, shoes, statues of Lagos, cafes/kitchens, cars, aeroplanes, houses with different designs, stadia, train stations, airports, cooking utensils, trucks, and other intriguing contractions. 

After thorough scrutiny of the entries, the grand prize of N500,000 was presented to Ezinwanne Oforbike, a student of Ebelechukwu International School, Anambra State. Samuel Onadeko of Omoniyi Nursery and Primary School Lagos clinched the second prize of N100,000 while the third prize of N75,000 went to Aromire Ridwan of YPO Shodeinde Islamic School, Lagos and Blessing Azeez of D’ Glorious Private School, Ijoko Ogun State received N50,000 for placing fourth in the competition.

Speaking at the prize presentation in Lagos, the Group Corporate Communications and Events Manager, Dufil Prima Foods Plc, Mr Tope Ashiwaju stated that the brand through the  competition is using the platform to create a bonding experience between children and their loved ones. 

“It is part of our responsibilities and core values to engage the children in activities that will aid their mental and physical development. The competition also provides an opportunity for these children to express their creative abilities and have loads of fun while doing so with their families. They learn to recycle waste on the street into desirable artwork which is very encouraging for the future leaders.”

In her address, the National Coordinator of the Indomie Fan Club, Faith Joshua, expressed satisfaction with the level of participation recorded for the competition. According to her, the ‘Indomie Team Yourself Up’ competition Season 7 was a huge success considering the number of entries received within one month that the competition lasted.

“Indomie Team Yourself Up’ competition was designed to boost the confidence of children while sharpening their innate consciousness and ability so they can express themselves better in life. We received over 70,000 entries of unique works nationwide, and today’s event is to select and display these works of genius to the public,” Joshua said.

The Indomie Fan Club is an initiative of Dufil Prima Foods, makers of Nigeria’s number-one noodles brand, Indomie Instant Noodles. The club was founded in July 2005 to create a fun environment for learning, excitement, and bonding for children.

The Indomie Fan Club has over 100,000 members spread across Nigeria and has grown to become the largest children-based fan club in the country.
