The Labour Party (LP) has reaffirmed the preparedness of its candidate in the November 11 Governorship poll in Imo State, Sen. Athan Achonu, to address critical development challenges facing the state.

The party listed insecurity, unemployment, deteriorated infrastructure, healthcare, and education, as areas that would get maximum attention if its flagbearer is elected as Governor.

In fact, LP vowed that Achonu has all it takes to redeem Imo, transforming the Eastern Heartland State to resonate hope among the different sections of Imolites.

South East National Vice Chairman of the party, Innocent Okeke, who gave the undertaking in a statement on Thursday, noted that unemployment is one of the major factors responsible for insecurity. For that reason, Achonu will provide youths access to capital and financial services, skills training and entrepreneurship support, adding that he will also revive the infrastructure of Imo if he emerges victorious.

Part of Okeke’s statement read: “With a clear vision and an impressive track record, Achonu aims to tackle the pressing issues confronting Imo State, such as youth unemployment, insecurity, deteriorating infrastructure, healthcare, and education.
