Ex-Imo Governor Emeka Ihedioha has lost one of his loyalists and businessman, Mr Donatus Ejam, to the Divine Mandate Movement ahead of the April gubernatorial primaries of the Imo People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The Ex Imo State governor and the National Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party are currently locked in an intense jostling for the party’s gubernatorial ticket which has polarised the party into the Sen Anyanwu and Ihedioha camps.

Speaking at the formal declaration of Mr Donatus Ejam for the Divine Mandate Movement, Member Representing Aboh Mbaise/Ngor-Okpala Federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon Bede Eke, said that the people of Ngor – Okpala will longer support a selfish leader in a veiled reference to Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha in the forthcoming 2023 polls, but only a leader that will recognise and accommodate those who had laboured and made sacrifices when he wins.

He said that the movement is glad to have Mr Donatus Ejam in their amidst and described him as a man with integrity who has been using his personal resources to work for the party in Ngor-Okpala.

“Mr Donatus Ejam who is hosting us today in his House is the kind of a person we need in this organisation in this struggle for equity and fairness in the state PDP because he is a man of integrity and, if he says he is with you, he is with you. I have related with him and has he never changed because he is a man of integrity.

In this 2023, the People of Ngor Okpala will only work for a leader who understands the worth of his followers and not after helping him to ascend he tell that dividends are now for his children and grandchildren.

Speaking earlier, Mr Ejam who is a chieftain of the PDP, thanked the leadership of the Divine Mandate Movement for welcoming him to the group.

“I am committed to the ideals of this group which are equity, justice and fairness in the way things are done in the Imo PDP. And, I want to assure you today I will not falter in my support in all ramifications. I have never failed in delivering my booth to PDP during elections in this community even the relations of the leaders of APC in this community support and vote for whoever I tell them to vote for because they trust in judgment,” he stated.

Present at the event were leaders of the Divine Mandate Movement such as Hon Bede Eke, incumbent Member representing Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala federal constituency, Chief Jeff Nwachukwu, Sir Sunny Ndukwu, Director, Media and Publicity of DMM, PDP ward chairmen, among others.
